HISTOIRE DE L’ORDRE DU TEMPLE
Introduction
Here, first of all, is what we generally find in our history books, dictionaries and the like:
The Order of the Temple was a religious and military order derived from the Christian chivalry of the Middle Ages , whose members were called the Templars.
This order was created on the occasion of the Council of Troyes in 1129, from a militia called the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon. It worked during the 12th and 13th centuries to accompany and protect pilgrims to Jerusalem in the context of the Holy War and the Crusades . The order became a financial power, even leading it to carry out transactions with certain kings or to have custody of royal treasures .
After the final loss of the Holy Land in 1291, the order fell victim to the struggle between the Papacy and the King of France, Philip the Fair . It was dissolved by Pope Clement V in 1314. The tragic end of the order led to much speculation and legend about it.
This is how we sum up two centuries of history, adding the massacres perpetrated by the crusaders!
So, first of all, a clarification: in 200 years, there have only been 20 major battles and the prize for the deadliest century goes to the... 20th century!
But history is not invented. It is written day by day.
And so it shall be.
It will be rewritten every time knowledge increases and as discoveries are made.
The invention or supposition will be nothing more than a novel intended for one's own pleasure or worse still, for the manipulation of the ignorant.
The proof, or even the beginning of proof, will support the true historical account.
No one holds the truth, except as regards things of the past, provided they know the sources, hold or have read the documents relating to them, excluding, of course, all the fakes fabricated to deceive honest people.
The author's deduction can only exist if it is supported by authentic, verified facts...
